Day 25: Relax Your Mind

In your space, focus on connecting your mind with your body for relaxation. Relaxing the body can improve your state of mind.

Consider the muscles in your face and try releasing any tense feelings by smiling. A simple smile signals to the  brain that you are OK.

The mind-body connection is the link between a person’s thoughts, attitudes, behaviors, and physical health.

Have you ever noticed that when you feel anxious, your body feels tight?

Next time you are struggling with an uncomfortable emotion, take a deep breath in, and when you exhale, relax your face and smile.

Mental Health Matters!

Mental health is an important part of your overall health. 🧠

Mental health matters, especially now during this pandemic crisis. Many people practicing social distancing are feeling isolated and alone. Abuse, suicide, and addictions are increasing by the day.

If you, or someone you know, is in need of help, please don’t hesitate to reach out and ASK. We care, and we are there for you.

Check in with your friends and family regularly during this time, not only for them, but also for yourself! 📱📲

Mental Health During a Crisis: How are you coping?

How are you coping? For many people this may be a very difficult time. So what do you do to maintain your mental health during a crisis?

Although we are practicing physical social distancing, one of the first things we need to do more of is to connect with people through other means of communication. It keeps us connected even though we can’t be with people physically.

Second, we need to continue doing some of the things that we love in a modified form, i.e. dancing at home, exercising in a park or at home. .

Third, limit the amount of information that you take it in that brings your mood down, i.e. social media, news, TV.

Fourth, find other things/activities to do, i.e. card games, board games, video games, walk in the park, etc.

Lastly, get some things done that you’ve always wanted to do, i.e. finish that book, rearrange that room, learn a new skill, etc. .
Be Well! 🙏🏾❤️
